FAQs:

  1. What is Gavin's Workshop?

Gavin's Workshop is a commission-based miniature painting service focused primarily around Warhammer 40,000, but I am not adverse to painting for other genres. I do prefer to paint armies for bulk commissions.
  2. Why should I commission from Gavin's Workship?

If you find my prices to be reasonable compared to other contemporaries and you enjoy my painting style, then go for it. Especially if you're unsure of your painting skills or don't have the time for a battle-ready army.
  3. Where can I get into contact with you if I have a question or problem with my commission?

You can email me at gavinsworkshop05@gmail.com or call me at +200 121 7700. This information can be found under the Contact page.

  4. What's the point of the References page?

To show where I get my models and paints from, but also if you want a specific color in your commissions page, or are looking for an army to build/prime/paint, you can check in my references.
  5. What do the tabs in your tables about Commissions on the home page mean?

Those are the pricing ranges that I follow based on level of work, detail, and points cost of Warhammer models. Of course, if your war-gaming system doesn't have a points system I'll try to base the price closest to that. Time frame is how long your army will be needed after I've received and fully worked out your commission to assemble, prime, and paint your army, excluding the time to send it back. Special orders or difficult armies will often take longer, as well as horde armies. Detail level is what I'll be doing. Pricing is how much that Commission will likely cost, but I can raise prices or offer discounts if needed.
  6. How often do you check your email for commissions?

Every 3 days usually, I don't charge for Commissions initially until they've been fully hashed out as I'll manually send a confirmation email that I've received your commission.
  7. What do I do if I've made a mistake or want to change the details on my commission?

Send an email or call/text me as SOON as possible, or address it in the reply once I've officially replied and confirmed your commission.
  8. Do you kitbash?

I'm not the greatest at kitbashing, but if needed, I can try and mix bits from other model kits or assemble things in an unintended way.
  9. Whats the difference between assembling, priming, and painting?

Models are often plastic multi-part kits that need to be cut and fused or glued in the assmebly stage, then primed using miniature primer to allow the paint to stick and affect model paint color, and then apply a variety of paints to the model for the intended army color scheme. I talk over this and define it in my Commissions page briefly.
